TRAINING VESSELS
Aside from theory, a significant portion of the course is devoted to giving intensive practical experience at sea to ensure effective technology transfer. The Department's training vessels are: M.V. SEAFDEC 2 , M.V. SEAFDEC , and M.V. PLALUNG
M.V. SEAFDEC 2, was celebrated on 6 December 2003 at Niigata Shipyard, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.

RADAR AND FISHING SONAR SIMULATOR
This simulator is located on 4th floor. It is divided into 3 sections :Radar Section, Sonar Section and Instructor Section. the proposed Radar and Fishing Sonar Simulator will be provided to permit training of deck part student in the radar observation and training in the use of Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPA).
And also this simulator is designed for the research and the education about the quick assessment to the quantity of fish schools, using the sonar and fishing echo sounder, and the research for taking hold of the movement of a mass of live in the ocean environment.
Fishing Workshop
The fishing workshop building is used for many training courses held at SEAFDEC-TD. This facility is large and mainly used by participants enrolled in fishing gear technology courses or university student's courses. Here the participants are able to practice various skills such as; learning proper fishermen knots, preparing for long-line operation, construction of TED's, and they are even able to observe an accurate purse seine model.
Engineering Workshop
The engineering workshop is primarily used for those trainees who come to SEAFDEC-TD to gain further knowledge on marine engines as well as refrigeration systems. Training course participants have the opportunity to use modern technology such as computers to control engine and refrigeration systems as well as learning about proper engine maintenance and repair for fishing boat.
Engine Simulator Room
This room is designed to provide practical experience for marine engineering training courses where the participants can observe how a fully functioning vessel engine system operates. Participants are able to simulate the main engine system of a vessel as well as; electrical generator, hydraulic system, central cooling system, refrigeration system and steering system. All of these systems can be controlled and programmed by the instructor who will create problems within a specific system in order to challenge the students and allow them to solve the issue on their own.
